We can come in and do a 'book stall' where children can exchange their tokens for World Book Day books (outside of WBD, we can create our own event and send you 'Story Shed' tokens to print!) - this introduces the elements of choice and transaction, without the need for parents to bring them to a bookshop (as we're aware that can sometimes present a barrier, for various reasons). We love doing this in school libraries as it also encourages use of the space!

We are also happy to bring a second-hand book stall after school, for parents to join their children and choose books within a pocket money budget.

We can offer bespoke workshops, either in school or in our shop setting (in the Brunel Centre), but these come with a cost (usually £50 per hour, but we may be able to adapt these to a smaller budget). Examples of these are:

- Storytelling sessions for EYFS - movement based stories and songs, with an option to add a craft based on the story. We can also invite parents along to these, for developing story skills at home. 20-60 minutes.

- Storybuilding sessions for KS1/KS2 - a fun and interactive workshop working together to create a character and tell a story. 30-90 minutes.

- Comic book workshops for KS2 - Learn a different type of storytelling with Nick Pavone Creations. - 60-90 minutes.

 

- Comic book workshops for KS3/KS4 - Learn the basics of comic book creation with Nick Pavone Creations. - 60-90 minutes.

We are also happy to work with you to deliver workshops on specific themes or with select groups of students targeting particular skills. We try to look for creative routes into reading rather than rote learning, which we find works really well with reluctant readers or children (and grown ups) who have difficulty with focus or sitting still.

Each workshop will have a minimum of two experienced staff - all are fully DBS checked, and we have Public Liability Insurance.
